Meet the Guides - KEN YOUNG

Brett Baum

Being in the mountains and around wildlife is a passion that has turned into an opportunity to meet people with similar interests and passion. I enjoy helping fellow hunters that have looked forward to their time in the mountains and the hunt, enjoy their time and experience, and leave as a friend with shared memories that will last forever. Trying to fit the hunt, to their goals and expectations is the goal, and I try to make that happen for them.

Growing up in Rural Utah, instilled a love of the outdoors and the mountains. Whether that was working cattle, hunting or fishing, I could not get enough of being there. Moving to the city and starting a family and career took up a lot of the time that I used to spend in the mountains. But I always looked forward to fall and getting back to the mountains with my bow, a tag and my boys. With the boys now grown and raising their families, that freed up time and the opportunity to follow my dream of becoming a guide. For the last 8 years I have had the privilege of meeting and assisting a lot of fellow hunters, and new friends, to get to make memories and experience the hunt they have dreamed of.

As a guide, I like to listen to the hunters to find out their expectations and try to mold a hunt to fit. I try to make their experience as enjoyable as possible.

Fall in the mountains is the best, Bugling Elk, Fall Colors, Hunting Camp with great food,  great friends and reliving hunting stories of past hunts and dreams of those to come.

In the offseason, I run an independent insurance brokerage, spend time with my family and enjoy watching the grandkids grow. I have been a volunteer for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation since 1991 and enjoy raising funds to conserve habitat for wildlife and open opportunities for hunters.
